This is a 58 week trial with 13 visits to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of an investigational medication in treatment of patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome.

| Qualified participants must: |

• Be between the ages of 18 and 80
•
Have loose stools in over 25% of bowel movements
•
If over 50, had a colonoscopy in the last 5 years
•
Complete daily phone calls |
