ICON Development Solutions is conducting a research study in type 2 diabetic men and women, ages 18-65, taking only metformin or using diet and exercise to control diabetes.
The purpose of this study is to test the safety, tolerability and effects of an investigational medication in type 2 diabetics. The study drug or placebo will be given as an injection under the skin.
Vital signs, ECGs, and physical examinations will be performed, and blood and urine samples will be obtained during this study. Meal tolerance tests will also be performed.
Participants will complete 1 screening visit.

| Qualified participants must: |
|
Be male or female between the ages of 18 and 65
Have a current diagnosis of type II diabetes and taking Metformin only or using diet and exercise to control diabetes
Have a BMI greater than or equal to 28
Not have received an investigational study drug within 30 days or an investigational anti-diabetic drug within 2 months of beginning this study
