Breathing More Difficult? Coughing up More Sputum? Is Sputum More Yellow? History of COPD? If your doctor says you have an acute exacerbation of your Chronic Bronchitis, you may qualify for a Clinical Research Study. Qualified participants must: • Be at least 35 years of age • Not be allergic to penicillins or macrolides • Have a history of smoking • Be able to swallow pills/capsules • Have not taken an antibiotic in the last 30 days • Must have a clinical diagnosis of acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis with increased or worsening cough, difficulty breathing, sputum production and purulence (yellow color sputum) Participants will receive: Research related medical evaluation, and study medication.
