Doctors would like to talk with you about medical research studying an investigational ointment to see if it helps relieve the pain associated with anal fissures, a medical condition that causes severe pain, bleeding and itching around the anus. The pain of an anal fissure most often occurs during a bowel movement and frequently lasts for one to two hours afterwards. If you have been experiencing the symptoms of an anal fissure for at least 6 weeks, you may be eligible to explore treatment options for this painful condition. Qualified participants must: • Be between 18-75 years old • Have a single, chronic, posterior midline anal fissure having anal pain for 6 weeks prior to screening • Be willing to go without the use of non-prescription (OTC) and prescription medicine for the treatment of anal fissure for the duration of the study Participants will receive: Study Related Care and study medication at no cost.
