|
Have You Ever Experienced a Traumatic or Life-Threatening Event? If so, you may be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Type of Study:
The Department of Psychiatry at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine is seeking volunteers who have experienced a traumatic or life-threatening event to participate in a placebo-controlled clinical trial of an investigational medication. Volunteers must be 18 to 65 years old, and in good physical health.
Aim of Study:
To test the effectiveness of an investigational new drug that may help with post- traumatic stress disorder symptoms. |
| Qualified participants must: |
|
• Be men and women between the ages of 18-65
•
Be medically stable
•
Be currently experiencing the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, such as intrusive memories or nightmares, avoidance behaviors, loss of interest, sleep problems, or increased startle
•
NOT have current effective psychiatric medications
•
NOT have major unstable medical conditions, including hepatitis B, C, or liver impairment
•
NOT have current or recent history of alcohol or substance abuse/dependence
•
NOT be pregnant or nursing
•
NOT be undergoing current participation in structured psychotherapy |
