Study summary:

A 6-month research study to evaluate the incidence of stomach ulcers, following administration of either the study medication or naproxen (a medication already on the market), in subjects who are at risk for developing ulcers due to taking chronic pain medications called non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS).

Qualified participants must:

• Have a condition requiring daily NSAID therapy for at least six months
• Be between the ages of 18 and 49 with a history of an uncomplicated ulcer within the last five years, or be age 50 or older (history of ulcer not required)

Participants will receive:

All study-related medical care and diagnostic testing at no charge to enrolled subjects. Compensation for time and travel expenses is also available.
