|
Gastrointestinal (GI) randomized event and safety open-label NSAID study (GI-reasons): A randomized, open-label, blinded-endpoint, parallel-group trial of GI safety of SC-58635 compared with non-selective nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) in osteoarthritis patients |
| Qualified participants must: |
|
• Be at least 55 years of age with a diagnosis of osteoarthritis requiring daily anti-inflammatory analgesic therapy
•
Have no history of GI hemorrhage or ulceration less than 90 days prior to screening visit
•
Have negative fecal occult blood test at screening
•
Not be on Lithium, or Plavix
•
Not have a history of myocardial infarction, stroke, transient ischemic attacks, or previous revascularization surgery
•
Not have congestive heart failure
•
Not have history of alcohol/substance abuse
•
Have no history of chronic IBS, renal insuff, or cirrhosis of liver
•
Not be enrolled in any other investigational trial concurrently within 30 of entry into this study
•
Not have history of malignancy in past 5 years other than surgically treated basal cell carcinoma |
