Study summary:

A 12-week study comparing an approved Cox2 inhibitor with study drug in patients with OA knee pain. Study is placebo controlled. Subjects will wash out of current medication and will randomize if the pain symptoms flare. There are 6 visits to the clinic over the 12 week study.

Qualified participants must:

• Be 50 years or older with 6 month history of OA of the knee
• Have been on a stable dose of pain treatment for at least 6 weeks and require continued treatment
• Not be allergic to NSAIDs or sulfa medications
• Not have had an ulcer in the last 6 months

Participants will receive:

Study exams and labs, study medication free of charge, and compensation for travel expenses
