| Study summary: |
|
Purpose: To determine if
treatment with motesanib AMG 706 in combination with paclitaxel
and carboplatin improves overall survival compared to
treatment with placebo in combination with paclitaxel
and carboplatin in patients with advanced NSCLC
(non-small cell lung cancer).

Inclusion Criteria:
- Histologically confirmed, unresectable
stage 111B with pericardial or pleural effusion or stage IV or recurrent
NSCLC.
- Ability to take oral medications
Exclusion Criteria:
- Any prior chemotherapy for advanced NSCLC
- Pregnant or breastfeeding woman.
