Type II Diabetes - Newly Diagnosed / Drug Naive - Magna UT (Clinical Trial 4184)

Study summary:

This study is for diagnosed Type II Diabetes patients that are not currently controlling their blood sugar levels with diet and exercise.

Two currently approved Diabetes medications used in combination are being compared to use of each medication alone for glycemic control.

No placebo.

The currently approved study medications are: Januvia and/or Actos.

If the study medications on this study do not adequately control blood sugar levels, patients can receive additional medications to help control blood sugar levels.

Qualified participants must:

• Be 18-78 years of age
• Not be on a previous Diabetes medication for the past 8 weeks
• Have a HbA1c between 7.5 and 11.0%.

Participants will receive:

Study medications, study related care and diabetes care, diabetes education, exercise and diet counseling, free glucometer and testing supplies. Compensation up to $400.00 provided to qualified participants.
