|
The study is examining the effects of adding a sleep aid to an antidepressant in women with depression, anxiety, and insomnia. It involves taking an FDA-approved antidepressant for 10 weeks as well as a sleep aid or placebo. There are four MRI scans at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA and four visits at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. |
| Qualified participants must: |
|
Be female and between the ages of 18 and 55
Regularly menstruating
Meet criteria for major depression
Not have a medical condition or take a medication that affects the GABA or glutamate system
Be currently experiencing insomnia
Not currently be taking antidepressant medication |
| Participants will receive: |

Study medications are provided free of charge and participants receive up to $600. |
