| Qualified participants must: |

Be 18-78 years of age,
Have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes,
Be taking metformin (Glucophage) |
| Participants will receive: |

Medical care, medication or placebo, laboratory work, clinical evaluations. Study participation includes 2 overnight stays at study site to evaluate your blood sugar levels. |
