The purpose of the study is to examine selected “phenotypes” (characteristics of brain and behavior) and determine how these may be related to genetic makeup or “genotype.” We are looking for individuals between the ages of 21 and 50 who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or who may have Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Research procedures in the LA5C Project include interview, neurocognitive testing, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scans, and genetic testing. Assessments are performed at no cost to participants. Research participants are compensated for their time at a rate of $15 per hour. Procedures last approximately 15-20 hours total and are completed on six or seven separate days. Qualified participants must: • Have a diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, or ADHD • Be between 21 and 50 years of age • Be willing to participate in a confidential phone screen to determine initial eligibility Participants will receive: $15 per hour for participation and reimbursement for parking at UCLA or bus fare.
