Study summary: The purpose of the research study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of a new investigational medication designed to treat type 2 Diabetes. The research involves taking blood and urine samples, ECG(s), physical exams and taking daily capsules of the investigational drug along with your usual dose of Metformin.

This clinical research study involves one screening visit and two visits that require you to be admitted to the clinical research center overnight followed by five brief follow-up outpatient visits and a final study conclusion visit.
Qualified participants must: • Take at least 1000mg Metformin in a day
• Have HbA1C of 7.0 – 10.5%
• Be 18-75 years of age
• Be willing to stay overnight for 4 nights in the clinical research center followed by 5 consecutive daily outpatient visits, then another 3 night stay and a final visit
Participants will receive: Compensation for study completion is $3,400.
