| Study summary: |
|
We are currently recruiting patients who have Type 2 Diabetes and high blood pressure (hypertension) who are currently on a stable diabetic regimen that does not include insulin that are willing to participate in a research study in this area. |
| Qualified participants must: |
|
Have Type 2 Diabetes
Have high blood pressure (hypertension)
Not taking insulin for diabetes
Have no history of diabetic retinopathy or diabetic neuropathy
Be willing to take study medication
Be willing to attend all required study visits
Not currently be taking more than 3 high blood pressure medications
May be newly diagnosed with high blood pressure or have not received any high blood pressure medication in the last 4 weeks
Type 2 diabetics should be on a stable anti-diabetic regimen (NOT taking insulin) OR on a stable diet and exercise for the last 4 weeks |
| Participants will receive: |

Qualified participants will receive at no charge physical exams, study medication, study related lab work, study related echocardiogram, study related assessment and supervision by a local experienced study physician. |
