Biomarker study for treatment response in depression
Feeling depressed or have been diagnosed with depression?
Healthy and would like to aid a research project?
The aim of this study is to identify brain, cognitive and genetic markers that predict treatment response to 3 antidepressant medications. Depressed volunteers will be assigned to one of three medications.
You will be required to satisfy study criteria and attend a medical screening and clinical assessment before being permitted to participate in the study.
While your brain activity is being measured via non-invasive brain-mapping methods, you will be asked to perform various tasks (e.g. focused attention, memory recall, etc.). You will also be asked to provide a blood sample, and answer questions about your medical history.
The study will involve two 3-4 hour testing sessions and additional 10 minute phone and internet follow-up sessions. |
| Qualified participants must: |

Be 18-65 years of age
Have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder and no recent use of antidepressant medication or
Be healthy with no history of depression
Have primary language of English |
