A randomized-withdrawal, placebo-controlled, study evaluating the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of Tapentadol extended-release in subjects with chronic, painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). |
| Qualified participants must: |

• Have diabetes
•
Be at least 18 years of age
•
Have foot pain |
| Participants will receive: |

Study medication, study related doctor's care, lab tests and compensation for time and travel. |
