This study is looking at an alternative therapy to treat hot flashes without the use of hormones. The purpose of this study is to test the safety and effectiveness of the study drug Gabapentin Extended Release. They are also determining if the medication is effective in reducing the daily average number and severity of hot flashes. The study is 28-42 weeks long with 8 visits and 2 phone contacts. |
| Qualified participants must: |

Be a post-menopausal women 18-70 years of age
Be able to enter simple commands and complete questionnaires on the frequency and severity of their hot flashes using an electronic diary

| Participants will receive: |
|
Study medication, compensation for time and travel up to 400.00 and study labs and medical attention and monitoring. |
