A 21 week research study testing the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug compared to a placebo (an inactive look alike pill) in subjects with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (lower extremity pain from diabetes). |
| Qualified participants must: |

Be at least 18 years of age
Have pain in both lower extremities, not adequately controlled with current medication

| Participants will receive: |

All study-related care and study drug at no cost to enrolled participants. Compensation for time and travel expenses is also available.
