| Study summary: |
|
We are currently recruiting patients who have iron deficiency anemia and have a history of unsatisfactory oral (by mouth) iron therapy or in whom iron therapy cannot be used. This study is assessing whether the administration of an IV (intravenous) iron study medication will increase blood iron (hemoglobin) by 2.0 g/dL or greater. |
| Qualified participants must: |
|
Be 18 years of age or older
Have been diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia (hemoglobin less than 10 g/dL)
Be willing to receive intravenous iron
Have a medical history of failed iron therapy (taking iron medication by mouth)including if you remain anemic despite iron therapy or have side effects that prevent you from taking iron by mouth or cannot otherwise take iron by mouth

| Participants will receive: |

Qualified participants will receive at no charge physical exams, study related assessments, study related lab work, study IV medication and supervision by a local experienced physician. |
