A 24 week, mulitcenter, randomised, double-blind, age-stratefied, placebo controlled phase iii study with a 28-week extension period to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dapagliflozin 10 mg once daily in patients with type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and hypertension, who exhibit inadequate glycemic control on usual care |
| Qualified participants must: |
|
• Have type 2 diabetes with high blood pressure
•
Be 45 years of age or older if male
•
Be 55 years of age or older if female
•
Have HbA1c blood level between 7% - 10%
•
Be taking at least 2 medications for diabetes and taking something for high blood pressure

| Participants will receive: |
|
Glucometer device with lancets, strips and medication. Compensation may be provided for time and travel. |
