| Study summary: |

This is an 8-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center study of the effectiveness and safety of a sublingual tablet administered once daily in patients with major depressive disorder. |
| Qualified participants must: |
|
• Be 18-70 years of age
•
Have experienced symptoms of major depression for at least 4 weeks
•
Not have a history of bipolar, schizophrenia, or obsessive-compulsive disorder

| Participants will receive: |
|
Study visits, procedures, medications at no cost. Compensation is available for all eligible participants. |
