Do you have Type 2 Diabetes and are not taking medication? |
| Qualified participants must: |
|
• Be 18 years of age or older
•
If a women of childbearing potential (WOCBP), be using an adequate method of contraception as detailed in the protocol
•
Have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
•
Have an HbA1C >= 7.5% and =< 9.5 % at screening
•
Have a fasting C-peptide >0.5 ng/mL at screening
•
Be drug naïve (no prior treatment with oral anti-diabetic drugs) or have not received pharmacologic therapy for diabetes for the 3 month period prior to screening
•
Be clinically stable with regard to medical conditions other than Type 2 diabetes
•
Be on concomitant medications at stable doses for at least 30 days prior to enrollment, and not anticipating adjustment during the study period
•
Have a fasting glucose =< 240 mg/dL at randomization
