One of the things that makes us stand out from other sites is the involvement of our Principal Investigator – Dr. Faisal Fakih (who by the way is bilingual in English and Spanish). Dr. Fakih is a TRIPLE BOARD CERTIFIED PHYSICIAN who practices internal medicine, pulmonary disease and sleep disorders. Dr. Fakih is passionate about conducting research and he deeply cares about improving the lives of his patients. He has been practicing in the Orlando area for over 30 years so the majority of our subjects come from his private practice.
Over the years we have built a large database of patients so we usually randomize subjects within 2 weeks of site initiation, and we have been consistently named a top enrolling site. Nowadays, we are conducting trials in Asthma, COPD, Bronchiectasis, Insomnia and Gout which are our main areas of interest in research trials.

| We have a state-of-the-art 14 private bedroom, Phase I-IV pulmonary investigational site with rich PK capabilities in the Orlando area (Winter Park to be exact). We are open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and have extended stay capabilities. Additionally, we have double locked medication storage rooms (including refrigerated), refrigerated centrifuges, backup generators, two -700 freezers, Grass Telefactor sleep lab equipment, a full body box pulmonary function test machine, x-ray equipment, automatic temperature monitoring systems, and crash carts. | | | |

Fakih, is our Founder and currently serves as our CEO, Medical Director and Principal Investigator. He is a leader in his field with over 30 years of private practice experience here in the Orlando, Central Florida area. He is triple Board Certified in Pulmonary Disease, Sleep Medicine, and Internal Medicine. Upon leaving his native country of Colombia, Dr. Fakih
received his medical degree from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, in 1972. He then conducted his internship and residency here in the United States, and moved to the Central Florida area in 1979. Dr. Faisal Fakih has been a Principal Investigator on many clinical trials and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. | | |
| | | Juan Carlos Escandon | | Sub Investigator | | p. 407-740-5447 | | e. jescandon@fpcresearch.com | | Juan Carlos Escandon, MD currently serves as the sub-investigator on many of our clinical research trials. He has been conducting research since 2010, and has participated on many studies – ranging from Gout, asthma, COPD, Myelofibrosis and Bronchiectasis. Dr Juan Carlos Escandon is a double board certified physician (Family Medicine and Sleep Medicine) who joins us from the prestigious Cleveland Clinic. Dr Escandon previously worked for our sister organization, Florida Pulmonary Consultants & Sleep Disorder Center while he finished the process of getting his license to practice medicine in the United States.
Dr Escandon is an experienced physician with many awards and publications to his credit. He is, like Dr Fakih, fluent in both English and Spanish. | | |
