Clinical trials are for the purpose of getting new drugs to market or testing drugs that are already on the market for a different use or a different delivery system (such as a patch instead of a pill, etc.) Rehab requires a strong motivation to stop abusing and a lot of mental health help. Good luck to you.

My daughter is addicted to heroine and she has been in rehab several times. there is a drug called suboxzone that is suppost to help. But the doctors around here do not take medicaide and charge so much money it makes it impossible to get this treatment. We can't afford the money first visit alone is anywhere between 150 to 350 dollars plus medication plus you have to go every week and the visits then are anywhere from 75. to 150. not counting medication. Anyone got ideas how to get into a study for this drug. She by the way has no other insurance . we are retired and support her and her two children Can anyone help?

Drug rehab can take the form of behavioral therapy, medication, or a combination of both. A number of considerations determine which therapy will work best

I will agree that some of the tactics being used in the drug war are ineffectual and misplaced. I often read about cases where government agents barge into an individual's house (and sometimes the wrong house!) to arrest an individual drug user whose only crime was to ingest an illegal drug, while drug lords who are bringing millions of dollars worth of drugs into our country are ignored. I believe that we need to focus more on educating children on the dangers of drugs and keeping the drug dealers from bringing the drugs into the country in the first place. I am more concerned with drug dealers who sell the drugs than the person who buys them, and I am more concerned about people who are under the influence of drugs such as PCP than those who are smoking pot in the privacy of their own home. However, just because some of the effort may be misplaced, that does not mean we should throw in the towel and make all currently illegal drugs legal.

Addiction treatment, obviously, only matters if it’s effective. Drug treatment and drug treatment centers don’t exist in a vacuum, after all; drug rehab patients are real people, and only those drug rehab programs which foster real recovery can ever be considered successful. If you or someone you care about needs substance abuse treatment, anything less just won’t cut it.

There are many illegal drugs, including stimulants (e.g. cocaine) depressants (Gamma Hydroxy Butyrate), or all-arounders (marijuana). The specific effects vary depending on the drug. Most drugs have an addictive effect after only a few uses. Even marijuana can become physically addicting. There are over four million people in the US addicted to drugs. It’s not about will power. Drug addiction is a debilitating disease that can kill if a person does not stop using. Even if it doesn’t kill the person, it can interfere with relationships, health, academics, etc.The best prevention is to avoid using illegal drugs. If you have family members who have been addicted to alcohol or drugs, you have a much greater chance of becoming addicted to a drug or having a problem with it.

I know of a place that may help you.. you live in LA so it'd be fairly close to you.. If you're as interested as you say you are, then PM me. My friend is also addicted to meth and I sent him to this place that helped me get off opiates.
Lots of luck,

Pheebs
