Stanford University is looking for parents and their children for a study that explores the effects of antidepressants and therapy on brain function in children/adolescents who have been experiencing depressive and/or anxiety symptoms. The study takes place in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University.  The study will include participant interviews about mood and health, a noninvasive MRI scan for your child taken of his/her brain, and an optional blood draw for genetic sampling. Your child will receive up to 16 weeks of free treatment and pictures of their brain. Eligible families will also be paid up to $690 for participation.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between 12-17 years old
• Have no braces/metal in their body
• Have current depressive/anxiety symptoms
• Have a parent or sibling with bipolar disorder (diagnosed or suspected)
