Cherry Hill, NJ 08002

Summary:

Are you living with binge eating disorder (BED)? Are you eating until you're uncomfortable full within a short period of time? Do you have feelings of disgust, depression, or guilt after overeating? The Center for Emotional Fitness is collaborating with Axsome Therapeutics on a study to assess the efficacy of solriamfetol in adults with binge eating disorder (SOL-BED-301).

What is the SOL-BED-301 binge eating disorder research study?

The SOL-BED-301 study is a clinical research study currently being conducted at select centers in the US. The study is for people aged 18 to 55 who are living with binge eating disorder and experiencing at least two binge episode per week for the last six months*. The SOL-BED-301 study is evaluating an oral investigational medication (solriamfetol) in adults with Binge Eating Disorder (BED). Solriamfetol is approved by the FDA for people who have excessive daytime sleepiness associated with narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which are sleep-related disorders. Solriamfetol is an investigational treatment for BED, meaning it has not yet been approved by any health authority for the treatment of BED. *Other criteria also apply.

What is binge eating disorder? / What is a "binge episode"?

Binge eating disorder is characterized by recurrent episodes of binge eating, which include:

  • Eating within a discrete period of time (e.g., within any 2-hour period), an amount of food that is definitely larger than what most people would eat in a similar period of time under similar circumstances
  • A sense of lack of control over one's eating during the episode (e.g., a feeling that one cannot stop eating or control what or how much one is eating)

Criteria:
  • People who are aged 18 to 55
  • Have experienced at least 2 binge episode per week over the last 6 months may be eligible.

          *Other criteria also apply.

Qualified Participants May Receive:

  • You may receive investigational medication.
  • You may receive study-related care and study evaluations at no cost.
  • You may also receive compensation for your time and travel.
  • You may have the opportunity to help advance potential new treatments for people with binge eating disorder*.

*Solriamfetol is an investigational oral medication being studied for binge eating disorder.
