Study Summary:

A phase 3 study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of study medication in subjects with type 2 diabetes and inadequately controlled high blood pressure.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Have a history of type 2 diabetes with a hgba1c of >7.0% to <10%
• Be on a stable dose of one of the following: an ace or aarb and on a stable dose of oral antidiabetic agent or and ace or and aarb in combination with another blood pressure agent
• Have inadequately controlled blood pressure defined as systolic b/p between 140-165 and a diastolic b/p between 85-105 at the screening visit
• Be willing to wear a 24 hour blood pressure monitor for a period of 24 hours on (2) occasions throughout the study
• Have a bmi <45
• Not be on insulin therapy
• Not have a history of gout

Qualified Participants May Receive:

Compensation for time and travel up to $500, all study related lab work and physical exams, and glucose monitoring supplies, all at no cost.
