Study Summary:

We are conducting a research study for the treatment of osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis in people who have cardiovascular disease (CVD) or may be at risk for developing CVD. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of celecoxib (Celebrex) when compared to NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, Naproxen) on cardiovascular events, gastrointestinal events, and renal events.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Be diagnosed with either OA or RA
• Have been diagnosed with CVD or have been told that they are at risk for developing CVD
• Be on pain medication for your arthritis that is not providing adequate relief
• Take Nexium throughout the study

Qualified Participants May Receive:

Study-related medications, lab work, and study-related physical exams are provided to participants in this study at no cost. Compensation is available to qualified participants for each completed visit for time and travel.
