Study Summary:

Our Irritable Bowel Syndrome study is to evaluate the effectiveness, safety and tolerability of an orally administered medication compared to a placebo (sugar pill) for the treatment of irritable bowel with diarrhea. Subjects must be 18 to 65 years of age, have a history of IBS with diarrhea, and be willing to use an acceptable method of contraception if applicable. Subjects will be required to not use medications to treat their IBS during a portion of the study and will also be required to complete a daily dairy by phone. The study duration is approximately 18 weeks (4 1/2 months) with 8 visits, and subjects may be compensated up to $400 for time and travel if all visits are completed.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 18 to 65 years of age
• Have been diagnosed with predominant IBS with diarrhea


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Qualified participants will receive study medication, study exams and may be compensated up to $400.00 for time and travel.
