Study Summary:

This clinical study compares the effects of 2 anti-hypertensive medications, Coreg-MR or Toprol XL, on cholesterol and triglyceride levels in adults with high blood pressure and normal levels of lipids, or high blood pressure and mild dyslipidemia.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 18-80 years old
• Have current presentation or documented past history of hypertension
• Be on an anti-hypertensive regimen at screening
• Have normal lipids or mild dyslipidemia
• Not be currently taking any beta-blockers or lipid-lowering medication

Qualified Participants May Receive:

free physical exam, free laboratory testing, free research-related care, $25 per visit for travel expenses
