Study Summary:

A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, phase 2 study to evaluate the effect of an investigational medication in joint damage in hyperuricemic subjects with early gout.

Qualified Participants Must:

• If male, be 50 years of age or older
• If female, be 55 years of age or older
• Have been diagnosed with gout
• Have a history of major cardiovascular disease (includes stroke, blocked ateries, diabetes)

Qualified Participants May Receive:

All study related medication and healthcare at no cost. Eligible participants will be compensated for time and travel.
