Study Summary:

Do you suffer from chronic pain of osteoarthritis of the knee or hip? If you suffer from chronic pain of osteoarthritis of the knee or hip and require regular use of pain medication you may be interested in participating in this clinical trial. The primary purpose of this research study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug, taken twice daily for osteoarthritis. Study Summary: Participants receive an investigational medication twice daily for a period of 14 weeks. A total of up to 13 office visits will take place over a period of approximately 20 weeks during which participants undergo evaluations including physical exams, assessment of knees or hips, laboratory tests, x-rays of the knees or hips, electrocardiograms and follow-up osteoarthritis assessments.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between 21-80 years of age, inclusive
• Have confirmed symptoms of osteoarthritis
• Have chronic osteoarthritis pain of the hip or knee requiring the regular use of pain medication
• Be in generally stable health
