Study Summary:

Are you a teenager that smokes? Does your child smoke? Volunteer for an adolescent/teen smoking cessation research study (ages 12 to 19).

This research study is evaluating a drug that was approved in 2006 for smoking cessation in adults in an adolescent/teenager population. During the study volunteers will be assessing whether they quit smoking cigarettes, reduce the number of cigarettes they routinely smoke, and their long-term abstinence rate.

To qualify you must:

  • Male or Female
  • Be 12 to 19 years of age
  • Parents must consent for any adolescent/teen under the age of 18.
  • Want to stop smoking
  • Currently smoke on a consistent basis
Duration: 23 office visits over approximately 1 year

Qualified participants will receive all the following at no cost:

  • Study medication
  • Visits with certified counselor
  • Extensive support programs
  • Physical exams
  • Tobacco testing and other labs
Monetary compensation up to $1,035 for time and travel expenses
