Study Summary:

Does your cholesterol medication cause Muscle aches and pains? If so, consider volunteering for this cholesterol research study.

There are many people who take medications called statins, such as Zocor, Lipitor, Pravachol or Crestor to help treat their high cholesterol. Some people while taking these statins do experience side effects such as muscle aches or pains, cramping or weakness. I am conducting a clinical research study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication for people who have had this problem (ie: muscle aches/pains) with at least 2 different cholesterol medications

To qualify you must:

  • Male or Female
  • Be 40 years of age or older
  • Have high cholesterol
  • Suffered from statin-inducted side effects (ie: muscle pains) from at least 2 cholesterol medication.
Duration: 14 office visits over approximately 16 weeks

Qualified participants will receive all the following at no cost:

Study Related:
  • Study medication
  • Physical Exams
  • Labs
  • Electrocardiograms (EKGs) which is a test that measures the electrical activity of the heart
Monetary compensation up to $630 for time and travel expenses
