Study Summary:

ICON Development Solutions is conducting a research study of an investigational medication in men and women, 18-65 years old, with type 2 diabetes. The purpose of the study is to test the safety, tolerability and metabolic effects of an investigational medication being considered for the treatment of diabetes. The study drug will be given as a single injection into the abdomen. Vital signs, ECGs, and physical examinations will be performed, and blood and urine samples will be obtained during this study.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Be a type II diabetic between the ages of 18 and 65
• Not be taking Actos or Avandia to treat diabetes
• Have a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 25.0 kg/m2 and less than or equal to 40.0 kg/m2
• Be willing to discontinue current diabetic treatment 14 days prior to and for the duration of the study
• If Female, be unable to become pregnant due to menopause, or have had a hysterectomy, tubal ligation or both ovaries and tubes removed
• If Male, Female partner is not currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study
• Have not participated in any clinical study in the past 4 weeks
• Complete 1 screening visit, 5 outpatient visits and 9 overnight stays (consecutive)

Qualified Participants May Receive:

All study related exams at no cost and compensation up to $3,100 for time and travel .
