Study Summary:

This is a Clinical Weight Loss trial investigating nutritional methods to reduce body fat in individuals that are overweight and obese.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Reside in Canadian, Cleveland, Logan, Lincoln, Oklahoma, or Pottawatomie County that includes the cities of Arcadia, Bethany, Cashion, Choctaw, Cleveland, Del City, Edmond, El Reno, Guthrie, Harrah, Jones, Luther, Meeker, Meridian, Midwest City, McClain, McLoud, Moore, Mustang, Norman, Oklahoma City, Piedmont, Shawnee, Spencer, The Village, Valley Brook, Warr Acres, Wellston, and Yukon
• Be between 25 to 45 years of age
• Be Overweight or Obese (Body Mass Index (BMI) equal to or greater than 25 (BMI of ≥ 25))
• BMI will be determined by Researcher
• Be limited to minor health conditions
• Conditions excluded are the following: individuals that are and/or have food allergies, cancer, debilitating joint conditions (i.e.: degenerative joint disease and degenerative disk disease), diabetes mellitus type I or II using insulin therapy, menopause, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), kidney problems, pregnant, breast feeding, and using diuretics and diet pills

Qualified Participants May Receive:

1. FREE Nutritional Services will be provided by a Registered Dietitian to eligible participants throughout the study, which normally has a business value of between $165.00 and $195.00.

2. Each eligible participant will receive compensation for mileage directly related to this study up to 35 miles at the 2007 IRS Business Mileage Reimbursement Rate for medical purposes of $0.20 per mile. This compensation will be provided to each eligible participant in the form of a complimentary Wal-mart Gift Card in the amount of $7.00, contingent upon his or her completion in the study.
