Study Summary:

Do you have chronic low back pain?

If you are at least 18 years of age and have been experiencing chronic low back pain for the past 6 months or longer, you may qualify to take part in a study of an investigational drug. The primary purpose of this research study is to test the effectiveness of 3 dose levels of a once-a-day investigational drug compared with placebo (inactive pill) for chronic low back pain.

Study Summary:
Those who take part receive one of 3 possible dose levels of an investigational drug or placebo (inactive pill) for 13 weeks and take medication once a day. A total of 6 office visits will be scheduled during which participants undergo evaluations including study-related physical exam and vital signs, study related laboratory tests, study related electrocardiogram, study related x-ray of the back, and assessment of their chronic back pain condition.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 18 years old or older
• Have confirmed symptoms of chronic back pain
• Have chronic back pain for at least the previous 6 months
• Be willing to take daily study medication for your low back pain
• Be in generally stable health

Qualified Participants May Receive:

If eligible, you will not be charged for study-related procedures. Compensation for travel may also be available.
