Study Summary:

A 12 week placebo controlled study to test whether or not a currently FDA approved medication is effective to reduce binge eating.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between 18 and 55 years of age
• Have at least 3 binge days per week
• Have had an episode of binge eating is characterized as:
    • Eating much more rapidly than normal
    • Eating until uncomfortably full
    • Eating large amounts of food when not feeling physically hungry
    • Eating alone because of being embarrassed by how much one is eating
    • Feeling disgusted with oneself, depressed or feeling very guilty after
    • Binge eating occurs, on average, at least 2 days a week for 6 months
