Study Summary:

In some individuals, dietary salt causes blood pressure to increase. The purpose of this research study is to determine whether or not dietary salt adversely affects blood vessel function, independent of blood pressure. Qualified participants will be placed on a three-week controlled diet (meals will be provided).

This research study will take place over three weeks and will include 9 visits to the lab, for a total of approximately 16 hours.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between 22 and 60 years of age
• Be healthy individuals with no chronic disease (i.e. cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes)
• Have a BMI (body mass index) of less than 30
• Not currently using tobacco


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Compensation of $300.00; All meals for the three weeks of controlled diet
