Study Summary:
This is a research study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of an experimental drug versus an approved drug in the management of gout. If you qualify to participate in this study, you will be asked to stop taking any medication that you currently take to control your gout. You will be randomized (like flipping a coin) to receive 1 of 3 treatment groups.
Approximately 2,250 subjects, ages 18 to 85, will be in this study at approximately 300 study centers in the United States (U.S.). You will be in this study up to 7 months, and you will need to come to the study doctor’s office for up to 6 visits.
Qualified Participants Must:
Be 18 to 85 years of age
Have a history of gout or symptoms
Have ≤ 14 alcoholic drinks per week
Qualified Participants May Receive:
Study-related care, physical exams, lab services, study medication
