Diabetic Retinopathy is the most common diabetic eye disease.  While you may have not noticed vision changes, over time Diabetic Retinopathy can get worse and cause vision loss.  It is a leading cause of blindness in American adults.  The purpose of this research study is to see how a new investigational medication affects your Diabetic Retinopathy and your overall health.  The information gained will help determine if the study drug could be used for future treatment.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between the ages of 18 and 80
• Have Diabetes Type 1 or 2
• Be able to self-administer subcutaneous (under the skin) injections twice a day
• Attend study visits approximately monthly for one year
• Allow six visits in your home with a Homecare Research Nurse


Qualified Participants May Receive:

  • Eye exams and study medication at no cost.
  • Compensation for time and travel, if qualified for the study.
  • Transportation to visits, if needed.
