Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can mean lots of pain due to gas and bloating. Right now, a clinical research study is enrolling WOMEN who have irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea OR who have a mixed IBS (with diarrhea and constipation at different time), known as IBS-Dand IBS-M. Researchers are testing an investigational drug to learn whether it can relieve symptoms of IBS abdominal or belly pain.



Criteria:

Those who volunteer and qualify will participate for up to 22 weeks. During this time, participants will receive study drug or a placebo for up to 14 weeks in the form of a tablet taken once per day by mouth. Your health is vey important to us and will be monitored throughout the enrire study. 

You may qualify for the study if you:

* Have been diagnosed with IBS-D or IBS-M 

* Are female and aged 18-70

*Have abdominal or belly pain related to your bowel movements


Qualified Participants May Receive:

All study-related medication and care will be at no cost to you if you volunteer and qualify. Patient's will be paid for participation.
