Study 43884 Flyer

If you are a woman who leaks urine when you cough, you may want to learn more about a cSUI Clinical Research Study

Do you have chronic cough Induced Stress Urinary Incontinence (cSUI)?

Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) means you leak urine unintentionally as a result of pressure, or stress, on your bladder. This stress happens during physical movements or activities, such as coughing, sneezing, running, laughing, or lifting. If you have a chronic cough and leak urine when you cough, you may have cSUI. However, you may not leak every time you cough to have cSUI.

What is the purpose of this study?

The MK-7264-042 clinical research study is evaluating an investigational drug to see if it may be a safe and effective treatment for cSUI.

Is study participation an option for you?

You may qualify to participate if you are a woman and:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Have been diagnosed with a refractory or unexplained chronic cough
  • Have been coughing for more than year
  • Leak urine when you cough
How long is the study?

If you complete the study, your participation will last approximately 22 weeks and include about 6 scheduled visits to the study clinic and 2 or more phone calls with the study team.

You can stop taking part in this study at any time. If you choose not to take part or you agree to take part but then withdraw, medical care you receive outside the study will not be affected. The study doctor will discuss other treatment options with you.

Clinical trials are medical research studies designed to test the safety and/or effectiveness of new investigational drugs, devices, or treatments in humans. These studies are conducted worldwide for a range of conditions and illnesses. Learn more about clinical research and participating in a study at About Clinical Trials.
