Summary:

The Forsyth Institute invites you to participate in a dental study for individuals with diabetes and dental problems.

You may qualify if you are:

-Diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes with an HbA1c level of above 7.5%
-Between the ages of 35-80 years old
-With body mass index (BMI) of 30 and above
-NON-SMOKER
-With or without gum disease, who would need a surgical treatment of gums or teeth before a dental-restoration
-The study requires a non-compensated screening visit to determine the status of your gums and teeth to see if you will qualify.


Once you qualify and agree to participate in the study, you will come in for a single study visit:

Blood and gum tissue samples during routine gum treatment will be collected
$50 stipend will be provided to compensate your time, and you will be assessed to determine whether you need gum treatment or surgery
