Clinical Trial 4405

New York, NY 10019

Study Summary:

Interested in Possibly Lowering Your Cholesterol without Medication?
Like Yogurt?

If you have high cholesterol or think you’re at high risk for high cholesterol, you may be interested in a new research study at Clinilabs, Inc. in Manhattan. We’re looking for men and women ages 21-75 to participate in a study of an investigational non-fat, strawberry yogurt product fortified with plant sterols, to see if it will lower LDL (bad) cholesterol.

Plant sterols are natural components of plant cells that potentially reduce cholesterol absorption in the body. The National Cholesterol Education Panel recommends that individuals consume 2 grams of plant sterols daily as a dietary approach to reduce cholesterol.

Qualified participants receive study compensation of $1,000 for completing the study -- which involves several daytime visits to Clinilabs Manhattan facility. In addition to having high cholesterol, you must be willing to follow a recommended diet for people with high cholesterol and discontinue consumption of products containing plant sterols (other than the investigational yogurt product).

Clinilabs is a leader in pharmaceutical research, helping to bring medical advances to the market for people like you. By making the decision to seek eligibility for one of our studies, you join a large group of people who may contribute to real advances in medical research. We look forward to speaking with you.

Clinical trials are medical research studies designed to test the safety and/or effectiveness of new investigational drugs, devices, or treatments in humans. These studies are conducted worldwide for a range of conditions and illnesses. Learn more about clinical research and participating in a study at About Clinical Trials.
