The primary objectives of the study are:

To determine the safety of high-dose aflibercept (hereafter referred to as HD)

To determine if HD provides greater intraocular pharmacodynamic (PD) effect and/or longer duration of action compared to 2 mg intravitreal aflibercept injection (IAI, hereafter referred to as IAI)


You could take part in the PHOTON study if you:

Are aged 18 years or over 

Vision disorders as a result of diabetes

Have a history of eye issues WITH concomitant diabetes  

Willing and able to comply with clinic visits and study-related procedures

Provide informed consent signed by study patient or legally acceptable representative




Qualified Participants May Receive:

$75.00 per completed visit; paid quarterly 

Patients may be reimbursed for reasonable out of pocket expenses which may incur related to travel in connection with study visits, such as parking, mileage reimbursement, or transportation fees up to a maximum of $100.00 per visit. Original receipts must be proivded for reimbursements. 

If the patient does not complete the entire study, they will be reimbursed only for the visits completed while they were in the study.
