Clinical Trial 44557

Hollywood, FL 33029

Aventura Clinical Research in Miami is now enrolling teen mothers (ages 15-17) for a clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational medication in adolescent females with postpartum depression (PPD). Postpartum depression is common in adult women who have recently had a baby, but teen moms are at an increased risk of PPD. Symptoms may include:

  • Feeling sad or depressed for a few weeks or more
  • Feeling distant from friends and family
  • Loss of interest in things that used to make you happy
  • Changes in appetite and/or weight
  • Outbursts and/or irritability, even over seemingly small matters
  • Trouble bonding with baby
Between screening, treatment, and follow-up, participants can expect to remain in the clinical trial for about 6 weeks (approximately 44 days). When the study medication is given, participants must stay overnight in the clinic for 3 days. Travel arrangements (including transportation and accommodations) may be provided for eligible participants and their parent or guardian. Additional study details will be discussed with you by a study representative.
