Summary:

BINGE EATING RESEARCH STUDY 

The University of North Carolina is trying to better understand how female reproductive hormones, such as estrogen and progesterone, impact eating behaviors in people who may experience certain types of unhealthy eating habits such as binge eating. With your help, we can learn how changes in hormones might lead to binge eating. 

You or someone you know might be eligible to join this research study if you:

  • Are 18-35 years of age
  • Have regular menstrual periods
  • Sometimes experience episodes of overeating (e.g., eating too much) or may have an eating disorder
  • Are not currently taking birth control 


Qualified Participants May Receive:

  • up to $900 at the end of the study
  • a free medical exam and blood work
  • all study participants will recieve a personal report about how their eating behaviors change in response to hormones
