Summary:

In addition to cognitive decline, people with Alzheimer’s disease typically experience behavioral and psychological symptoms including agitation and aggression. These symptoms are seen in a high percentage of people with the disease, with agitation being reported in approximately 70% of people with Alzheimer’s disease. By 2050, the estimated number of people in the United States living with Alzheimer’s will be 14 million.1

Agitation is characterized by emotional distress, aggressive behaviors, disruptive irritability, and lack of inhibition. Agitation in people with Alzheimer’s disease has also been associated with increased caregiver burden, decreased functioning, earlier nursing home

If you care for someone with Alzheimer’s disease and they have been experiencing symptoms of agitation and disruptive behavior which have made caring for them even more difficult, the ACCORD study may be an option for your loved one. The ACCORD study is seeking to recruit people who are: *
• Aged 65 to 90 years old
• Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease
• Currently exhibiting agitation, aggression or irritability
• Have a dedicated caregiver

Qualified Participants Must:

• Aged 65 to 90 years old
• Diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease
• Currently exhibiting agitation, aggression or irritability
